Summary:
We are continually enhancing our CAD import engine to support changes in the AutoCAD DXF/DWG format. As v.2.10, AGI32 reads DXF/DWG files through AutoCAD 2010. However, not all entity types are imported. This article outlines the entities that will and will not import into AGI32.

The following will import into AGI32 from a CAD (DWG, DXF) file:
Supported Drawing Entity Types:
- Line
- Arc
- Polyline (LWPolyline, 3DPolyline)
- Spline
- Circle
- Ellipse (Elliptical Arc)
- Text
- Mtext (unformatted)
- Mline
- Trace
- Solid (2D)
- Dimensions (most types)
- Leader (most types)
Supported Object Types:
- 3D Face
- Polyface Mesh
- Regions (holes within are supported)
- 3D Solids (planar surfaces only, non-planar surfaces will not be imported)
- Regions
- Bodies
- Surfaces (Extruded, Revolved, Lofted, Swept, and Planar)
- Meshes
Other Supported Entity Types (Misc.):
- Block References (Inserts)
- External Reference (XREF) – These are imported automatically if the references can be found; otherwise, only the master drawing is imported

- Attribute
- Attribute Definitions
- Hatch
- Hyperlink
- MInsert Block
- Point
- Raster Image
- Ray
- Shape
- Tolerance
- XLine
- Proxy
- Paper Space (all entities in Paper Space)
