Summary:
'Run-time error 62 - Input past end' error occurs shortly after starting the program or when clicking the 'Instabase' button.
More Information:
Running diagnostics version reveals that the error occurs shortly after the program is completely loaded and is idle, waiting for user interaction. At this time, the program does an automatic check to see if any updates are available. This process involves waiting for and reading an Internet cookie. If the cookie is not valid (empty), the program generates an 'Input past end' error when attempting to read the cookie. The program can also experience issues with an empty cookie when checking for Instabase updates which occurs when in the Define Luminaire dialog but doesn't become apparent until the 'Instabase' button is clicked.
Workaround:
Delete your temporary internet files and, in particular, cookies. If you do not want to delete all of your cookies, search for and delete cookies with the following filename pattern: *www.agi32*.txt.
Here are some steps to try:
-
Open Internet Explorer (even if you use Firefox or Chrome)
-
Click on [Menu: Tools-Internet Options] which will open the Internet Options dialog
-
Under the “General” tab in the Internet Options dialog, click on the “Delete” in the “Browsing history” section
- If running Internet Explorer 7 or earlier:
A. Click the “Delete Cookies” button
B. Click the “Delete Files” button in the “Temporary Internet Files” section
C. Close Internet Explorer and run AGi32 again
If running Internet Explorer 8:
A. Uncheck all options except “Cookies” and “Temporary Internet files” then click the “Delete” button. Make sure that you UNCHECK the “Preserve Favorites website data” option (it will be checked by default)!
B. Close Internet Explorer and run AGi32 again
