This topic discusses how to update an AGI32 Activate Disk Environment (ADE). An ADE consists of one activated installation and one or more deactivated installations.
More Information:
In most cases you can not use the Auto Updater within AGI32 to update an ADE. In order to use the Auto Updater, the installation must be activated, however, you can not activate installations across major versions. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to download and apply the update manually using the step-by-step procedure outlined below.
To avoid potential problems, all installations in an ADE should be the same version (see also Info: Activate Disk changes in v1.92 (or greater)).
Step-by-Step Procedure:
- Download the appropriate setup file (‘NewInstall’ for major version update or ‘UpdateOnly’ for updates within a major version). Setup files can be obtained from our web site (www.agi32.com). Navigate to Customer Login and enter your LAI number and email address. Select the appropriate setup file and download to a central location that can be accessible by all computers in the ADE
- From each client in the ADE, apply the update by executing the setup file (it may be necessary to copy the setup file to the client computer). Note: The update should be applied to ALL computers in the ADE regardless of their current state (activated or deactivated). It is not necessary to activate an installation in order to update the installations!
